Leon Henderson, head of the Office of Price Administration (OPA) and Secretary of the Interior Harold Ickes look on in astonishment. The newly-established OWI was given the job of coordinating public statements from the often contentious agencies of government. In July 1942, when Ickes criticized a statement of the OPA, saying they didn''t know their facts, Davis called in Leon Henderson and persuaded him not to issue a rejoinder. MEDIUM:1 drawing.
