CD 1 - Berryman...TITLE:I wonder why nobody''s been around to congratulate me?CALL NUMBER:CD 1 - Berryman (C.K.), no. 285 (A size) <P&P>[P&P] REPRODUCTION NUMBER:_ _ _ _ _ SUMMARY:World War II cartoon shows Hitler and a somewhat battered Mussolini, sitting alone slicing a small cake labeled "10th Anniversary as Chancellor of the Reich." A radio blares "Happy Birthday Mr. Roosevelt, Happy Birthday to You!" Hitler asks pensively, "I wonder why nobody''s been around to congratulate ME?" By coincidence, January 30 was not only President Roosevelt''s birthday, but also the anniversary of the day that Hitler took over the German government in 1933. By January 1943, the tide of war had begun to turn against the Axis. Berryman suggests that Axis supporters may be beginning to have second thoughts. MEDIUM:1 drawing. CREATED/PUBLISHED:1943 Jan. 30.
