SUMMARY:Cartoon shows a smiling General Eisenhower in a business suit, carrying a fishing pole, on a dock crowded with fishermen. He asks one intent fisherman (labeled "Taft"), "How they bitin''?" Eisenhower had returned from his post as supreme commander of NATO in June 1952 to begin active campaigning for the Republican presidential nomination. With the caption, the cartoonist suggests that the long-time Republican leader, Senator Robert Taft, will not be the automatic selection for the nomination.
