At the same time, he blocks a door through which a figure labeled "Truce" vainly tries to pass. Rhee opposed the American efforts to obtain an armistice and did what he could to sabotage the agreement. Probably to apply pressure, the Communists launched powerful offensives in June and July 1953, shortly before the end of the war. MEDIUM:1 drawing.
